The Romeo & Juliet of Golden Retrievers
This isn’t just puppy love. What these two golden retrievers found is the real deal.

Aubrey first spotted brown-eyed Bruno when she walked out onto her balcony. A TikTok video shows Bruno making eyes at Aubrey from below, just like Romeo.

After the first video went viral, Aubrey and Bruno’s owners – who live in the same apartment building, a few floors apart – officially connected and introduced their pups. They greeted each other warmly, tails wagging. "The meeting went well, and they absolutely loved each other!" Aubrey's owner recalled.

The adorable videos of these dogs will melt your heart. We’re rooting for Aubrey and Bruno!

What we're digging
By now you know that we're huge fans of any activity involving our dogs. And sometimes, the extent of "activity" we're willing to commit to for the day is just drinking wine with our dogs by our side. (It's cold and times are kind of ruff, can you blame us?)

Thankfully, our friends at Bright Cellars make this easy - and a lot more exciting - by delivering new wines directly to our door.

Bright Cellars, the wine company on a mission to help you discover new wines you'll love, works by taking you through a fun 7-question quiz with questions like “what type of chocolate could you eat for the rest of your life?" Their algorithm then selects wines for you based on your unique tastes.

Each box includes new personalized matches along with wine education, info on each bottle, and easy pairing suggestions.

The best part? Bright Cellars is offering an exclusive deal to Daily Dig readers - 50% off your first box! Plus, you can cancel, skip, or change your order frequency whenever you want.

Take the quiz here to see your matches and claim your discount. Cheers!

Do dogs use Earth’s magnetic fields to navigate?
You may have heard the scientific factoid that dogs tend to take a north-south position when they go to the bathroom. (Or maybe you haven’t, and we just happen to end up in conversations about dogs more than the average human being…)

Researchers wondered if this might indicate that dogs have the ability to sense Earth’s magnetic fields. So, to test this, they conducted a study in which dogs were taken outside to play – with a GPS sensor attached to them. In all cases, the dogs would return to the person who released them. However, some dogs would retrace their path, while others would take an unfamiliar path – known as scouting.

The dogs who used the scouting technique were actually more efficient and, for the most part, they ran along a north-south path a few times to get their bearings before reconnecting with their human.

When this experiment was repeated with additional factors – including different wind speeds – the results remained the same, leading researchers to conclude that dogs can use magnetic fields to orient themselves in unfamiliar surroundings. How cool is that?!
