Four non-verbal ways that dogs tell us they love us
Did you know?
All the color in dogs' fur is created from just two kinds of color pigments, a black one and a red one.
There are 8 genes in dogs that are responsible for telling cells how much of these pigments to produce and where to produce them, and all the color and pattern variations in dog coats (even white ones) are due to the directions these genes give cells when the cells are producing hair.
Border collie and his nearly identical feline bestie
You might not usually picture dogs and cats getting along, but this adorable odd couple is breaking all the rules and melting all the hearts.
Not only do Wang Keai the border collie and Wang Yimi the tuxedo cat look alike, they even have similar habits. The two can be seen walking around together, sitting down at the same time, and cuddling up on their little bed together.
Keai first encountered Yimi when he went out on walks in his neighborhood. At the time, Yimi was a stray. However, Keai’s owner took Yimi in when the cat became ill. Soon, Yimi started to feel comfortable in his new surroundings and the pair became inseparable.
A video of these two cuties hanging out is up to over 700,000 views. Check it out!

4 ways dogs show love
When you fall head over heels for your dog, you may wonder if the feeling is reciprocal. How do you know that your dog loves you?
According to canine behavior specialists, there are some tell-tale behaviors dogs can do that indicate a deep affection for their people.
A warm greeting. When you get home and your dog goes crazy, jumping around and wagging its tail, this is a sign of pure love.
Facial expressions. When a dog raises its eyebrows or shifts back its left ear in response to seeing its owner, that is a sign of affection and comfort.
Eye contact. When your dog looks you straight in the eye, oxytocin – the love hormone – is released. One expert said that this behavior is basically your dog “hugging you with his eyes.”
Yawning together. One reason that yawning is “contagious” is that it triggers an empathic response in humans. While it’s more difficult to measure empathy in dogs, experts believe that when a dog yawns, it indicates a bond to their human. A recent study showed that dogs are more likely to yawn when their owner yawns, as compared to a stranger.
While you might look out for these signs, you can also trust your instincts. When you take good care of your pup, you can be pretty sure that they love you in return.
