Pitbull has the time of his life going down the slide
If you thought slides were just for kids, think again. This playful pitbull went down the slide and took himself back up for another round, melting the hearts of everyone at the park that day. Thankfully, his owner captured the magic moment and shared it for all of us to see.

Kane the pitbull waited patiently in line behind several kids before taking his turn. When he got to the bottom, Kane grabbed his own leash and went back up to the top for another round.

How do dogs know they're close to home on car rides?
Have you noticed that when you’re driving home, your dog can tell you're close, even when you’re still a few miles out? It might seem like your dog has a sixth sense, but research suggests that there are some likely scientific explanations for this phenomenon.

Experts believe that dogs may be sensitive to the Earth’s magnetic orientation. In studies where dogs traveled from a starting point and had to find their way home, they either used a technique called tracking, which is basically retracing their steps, or they would find a new route by scouting. It’s believed that the ability to scout is related to dogs’ sensitivity to the Earth’s north-south geomagnetic axis.

Of course, dogs also have an excellent sense of smell. It’s likely that your street has a distinct smell that your dog recognizes. While dogs notice scents a lot further out than we can, their sense of smell only extends so far.

So, if your dog finds its way home from miles away, it’s likely using a scouting technique. If you’re within a 15 minute drive of your home and your dog perks up in the backseat, your dog is probably relying on its sense of smell.
