The Ultimate Guide to the Best Dog-Friendly Bars in the U.S.
One of the many great joys of owning a dog is bringing them along while you enjoy a beer on a patio or at the brewery. The trick is knowing which of your local watering holes are dog-friendly. Thankfully, we found you a list.
Check out the top 16 dog-friendly bars across the country.
Once you choose your spot, how do you make the most of your experience? Here are some pro-trips:
Before you head to your favorite dog-friendly bar, it’s not a bad idea to check on the rules to find out if you can bring your pup inside. When your dog is tagging along, you want to make sure that you can remain aware of your surroundings to keep them safe. So, if you plan on having more than a couple of drinks, it’s best to leave your dog at home.
It’s a good idea to bring a portable water bowl so your pup can stay hydrated while you chill out. You might want to pack some treats and their favorite chew toy to keep them happy during happy hour, too.

How to make your own dog-friendly Easter cookies:
What you’ll need: pumpkin puree, peanut butter, eggs, whole wheat flour, cream cheese, fresh berries, and turmeric. (click the recipe link above for measurements)
Preheat the oven to 350º F.
In a bowl, beat the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and eggs for 1-2 minutes.
Add in the flour, and up to ¼ cup water if the mixture becomes too dry.
Knead the dough on a floured surface.
Roll the dough out and then cut it up with Easter cookie cutters.
Bake on a parchment-lined sheet for 20-25 minutes.
While the cookies are baking, make the frosting. Start by softening the cream cheese in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
For pink icing, microwave the raspberries and blackberries until they bubble, then strain the seeds.
For yellow icing, stir in a pinch of turmeric.
Wait for the cookies to cool, spread on the icing, and give your dog a treat from the Easter bunny!

How to talk to your dog, according to scientists
It’s totally normal to talk to your dog – we all do it. While dogs don’t understand human language, there is a way of talking that helps your dog to understand your meaning. So, how do you do it?
Scientists call it dog-directed speech and it basically means to shorten and simplify the structure of your sentences. It can also help to speak in a slightly higher pitch.
You can also accompany your words with a physical gesture. Unlike other animals, dogs can understand what pointing means.
The next time you want to test how well your dog understands you, try varying your sentence structure, your pitch, and using hand gestures. You may notice a difference in their reaction!

Answer: Boxers! Boxers have a strong work ethic, so they take their jobs of watching over children (and pulling wagons or playing fetch with them for hours) very seriously.
These affectionate dogs are always alert, and they always seem to be paying attention to what their humans are up to. Their agility will keep up with any child on the playground, and their grounded personality allows them to easily adapt to a calm, relaxed setting at home.
