7 Times Celebrity Dogs Were Eco-Icons
We love it when celebrity dogs use their platform for a good cause. Check out these seven times when the internet’s favorite celebrity dogs became eco-icons:

  • Finn’s hand-stitched hat. Ditching fast fashion for a durable handmade head warmer? Nothing’s cooler than that.

  • Jiff eating ice cream from a cone. We all love to treat our dogs to a puppuccino, but to-go cups have a plastic lining that makes them impossible to recycle. A waffle cone, on the other hand, is both delicious and eco-friendly.

  • Whiskey and Bourbon touring the great outdoors. These adventurous Canadian pups remind us to recommit to environmental stewardship.

  • Agador’s reusable cup. This coffee-loving Maltipoo is ready to get down to business by using one less to-go cup.

  • Doug’s DIY Halloween costume. This adorable pug is helping to remind us to make our costumes with pieces we have lying around the house rather than buying new.

  • Nelly’s farmer’s market produce. Shopping at the farmer’s market is a great opportunity to not only buy locally, but to buy seasonally. Plus, many farmer’s markets have dog treats.

  • Ginkgo getting out to vote. This sweet pup reminds us to vote for politicians and policies that protect the environment.

Do(g)-It-Yourself
Peanut butter is one ingredient that comes up in lots of homemade dog treat recipes. When you’re whipping up something special for your dog, it’s especially important to make sure you’re using all-natural peanut butter – without sugar and artificial ingredients.

Want to keep a close eye on what your dog is consuming? You can make your own dog-friendly peanut at home with all natural ingredients.

How to make your own homemade peanut butter:

  • What you’ll need: unsalted, roasted peanuts, honey (optional), and peanut oil (optional).

  • Pulse the peanuts (along with the other, optional ingredients) in a food processor until you get a creamy texture. This could take 3 minutes of blending.

  • Refrigerate the peanut butter in an airtight container.

  • Use the peanut butter in a treat recipe, or give it to your dog on its own!

What we're digging
27,000 trees are cut down each day to make toilet paper. That feels like 27,000 too many, so honeycomb created toilet tissue from 100% sustainable bamboo.

Why is bamboo better? It grows 80x faster than the average tree – meaning it can create thousands of rolls in the time it would otherwise take a single tree to grow back.

Honeycomb’s 3-ply is formulated to strike the perfect luxurious balance between soft & strong. It feels just like regular high-end TP, without harming the planet. Biodegradable, plastic-free & delivered to your door.

Even better? 4/22 is Earth Day, meaning their Earth Day Flash Sale is live for the next 24 hours.

The Do's & Don'ts of Bringing Your Dog to Your Next Outdoor Dining Night
Do you have dinner plans coming up? We love bringing our dogs out to dinner with us, but before you bring a “plus fluff” to a restaurant, it’s important to consider the experience from your dog’s perspective.

Here are some do’s and don’ts to ensure that everyone has a good evening:

DO consider your dog’s comfort level in new situations. If your dog is easily stressed out when a lot of new people are walking around, it might be best to leave your pup at home.

DON’T bring your dog to a patio if it’s supposed to be really hot out. Keep their safety in mind, and let them stay cool.

DO call ahead and find out if there’s a dog-friendly seating area. Some restaurants will even list this info on their social media. You may also want to find out if there’s a dog menu.

DON’T forget to bring a leash and a travel water bowl for your dog.

DO let your dog go to the bathroom before you sit down.

DON’T let your dog pull toward other dogs on a crowded patio. Eating outdoors is a good opportunity to practice training skills.

DO advocate for your dog’s comfort. It’s totally okay to ask people not to pet your dog if you don’t want them to.

DON’T stay at the restaurant if you notice a change in your dog’s behavior. If your dog starts to feel uncomfortable or stressed, ask for your meal to go and get your dog home where they feel cozy and safe.
