The Dog Aging Project
We all hope our dogs stay with us for as long as possible. That’s why the Dog Aging Project formed to “better understand the complexities of aging in dogs and what contributes to a long and healthy life.”
Since 2018, the Dog Aging Project has been studying tens of thousands of dogs from all breeds and backgrounds. The Project is expected to run for 10 years, with the goal of learning how factors like a dog’s genome, microbiome, demographics, and environment impact their health.
Curious to see how your dog’s health and behavior compares to other dogs in the study? Check out the Dog Aging Project’s data dashboard.
You can also nominate your dog to be a participant in the study on their website, DogAgingProject.org. The Dog Aging Project’s open-source data will give veterinarians and scientists tools to assess how well a dog is aging and will help researchers draw conclusions about how to keep dogs aging healthily.

Boston Terriers. These sweet pups typically need a couple walks a day and some indoor playtime. Plus, their short coat is as low-maintenance as it gets.
Chihuahuas. Adaptable and independent, these little guys only need short walks.
Manchester Terriers. These sleek beauties like to chill on the couch after a walk. Plus, their coats require minimal grooming.
Dachshunds. As far as exercise, these little cuties only need short walks or some running around the house. If you work from home, you can expect your Dachshund to sit by your side while you work.

Answer: the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi!
They are considered two entirely different breeds because they come from different ancestors. Their resemblance is the result of crossbreeding in the 19th century.
If you’re trying to tell the two breeds apart, the most obvious difference is that the Pembroke does not have a tail. Cardigan Welsh corgis also have rounded ears, while Pembrokes generally have pointier ears.
