Happy Monday! Here's the scoop:
Meet the new record holder of the “world’s tallest dog!”
A loving rescued DOTD
The dog breed you should adopt, according to your Myers-Briggs personality type
Did you know?
A Bull Terrier named "Spuds MacKenzie" was the mascot for Bud Light beer in the late 1980s. Minor scandal arose when it was discovered that Spuds was really a girl dog (!) with an even better name - "Honey Tree Evil Eye."
Zeus, a Great Dane from Texas, is the world's tallest dog
The Guiness Book of World Records made a big announcement in March. At only two years old, a Great Dane named Zeus is officially the world’s tallest dog.
They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and Zeus the Great Dane is no exception. From Bedford, Texas, Zeus clocks in at over 3 feet, 5 inches.
His owner Brittany Davis told Guinness World Records, “He's been a big dog since we got him, even for a puppy. He had huge paws.” It’s no surprise why. Great Danes are known for being. Plus, Zeus eats 12 cups of dog food every day, as well as the occasional fried egg.
Check out this gentle giant. We love Zeus!
Dog of the Day
Meet today's DOTD: Brandi!
Brandi is a rescue who was adopted by Daily Dig reader Patti Z. Patti shared that she’s so very gentle and happy to be in her forever home. Brandi came with a few handicaps but adjusted wonderfully, and is now one happy dog (and so is Patti!).
P.S. Want your pup to be featured in a future Daily Dig? Submit their pic to woof@dailydigdogs.com, DM us on Instagram, or reply to this email! Include their name and anything that makes them special (we know, we know, everything about them is special).
The best dog breed for your personality type
Need some help deciding which breed to adopt? Although every dog is unique, different breeds are known for having certain personality traits. If you’ve taken the Myers-Briggs test, you can use what you know about your personality to help you pick out a dog breed.
Here’s how to pick the best breed based on your personality type.
ISFJ: Known as the “Defender,” it’s no surprise that this personality type gets along well with the German Shepherd, a loyal and obedient breed. German Shepherds are known for their intelligence and their drive to keep everyone safe.
ESFJ: People who are very caring and concerned with the wellbeing of others might want to befriend a Bichon Frise. These little guys are the “cheerleaders” of the dog world and thrive on human interaction.
ISTJ: If you’re reserved and practical, you’re a good match for a Pekingese. These long-haired dogs are confident and self-possessed.
ISFP: The Shiba Inu, an easy-going, independent breed gets along well with an owner who’s kind, friendly, and sensitive.
ESFP: Spontaneous, resourceful, and outgoing people are sure to love Corgis, the breed that’s known for being the life of the party. Playful and happy, Corgis bring joy wherever they go.
