“You know, a dog can snap you out of any kind of bad mood that you’re in faster than you can think of.” – Jill Abramson

Happy Monday! Here's the scoop:

  • The simplest way to #selfcare

  • Meet our Dog of the Day!

  • The nostalgic accessory that’s making a comeback

True or False...
Yawning is contagious—even for dogs.
(scroll to the bottom to find out!)

Is taking care of your dog "self-care?"
According to a recent survey, taking care of our furry friends might actually result in taking better care of ourselves (without us even knowing it).

The next time you contemplate bursting your weekly budget on bath bombs and aromatherapy scented candles, consider these results polled from 2,000 American pet paw-rents:

  • 70% admit they take better care of their pet than themselves

  • 80% said taking care of their pet actively encourages them to take better care of themselves

  • 72% said the biggest benefit their pet provides is reducing their stress, depression and/or anxiety

  • 62% said their pet helps them to exercise, by taking them on walks, playing in their house, etc.

  • 44% said their pet helps them to be more cautious and aware of the food they eat

  • 76% confirmed that a dog really is a man’s best friend (🥺)

84% of respondents also look to their pet for support, love, and companionship and are thankful for their pet for helping them through some of their most difficult times.

So go ahead, pamper your pooch. Thanking your bff with an extra long walk or sneaky post-dinner treat might just be all the self-care you need.

Do(g)-It-Yourself
Here at Daily Dig we - surprise, surprise - absolutely melt for pics of cute pups.

Our Dog of the Day segment features our loyal readers and their beloved pets (it might only exist because we want to meet all of your perfect dogs, but that’s neither here nor there...).

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Email us a picture at woof@dailydigdogs.com. Include your dog’s name, favorite activities/treats, or anything else you’d care to share!

  • Tag or DM us on Instagram @dailydigdogs (P.S. We just launched our account, please give us a follow if you love Daily Dig!).

  • OR simply reply to this newsletter with your pet pictures.

We’ll share some of our favorite submissions in future Daily Digs. In the meantime, meet our first Dog of the Day: Vito!

According to Vito’s mom, the only thing he loves more than lounging on his green chair all day is...her. And raw cauliflower snacks.

True or False...
True! The sound of a human yawn can trigger one from your dog, and it’s 4x as likely to happen when it’s the yawn of a human they know (isn't that the cutest thing you've ever heard?).
