Holiday photos with Fido
During our first covid-Christmas, one physical display of affection made an unmistakable comeback: greeting cards.
Social distancing may have left a Christmas cookie-sized hole in our hearts last year, but swapping family photos - especially those that included members of the four-legged variety - helped us feel just a little bit closer.
We know your dog is just as much a part of your family as anyone else, but they might be slightly more difficult when it comes to sitting and staying for a photo. If you’re planning on embracing the re-trending greeting card tradition this year, try these helpful tips to up the adorableness and attentiveness in your photo session:
Get on your dog’s level. This makes them feel more at ease and less aware of the camera.
Use a toy or treats to get your dog’s attention. Even the most well-skilled photographer leans on this trick for those perfectly perked ears and bright eyes!
Avoid using flash so your dog won’t get red-eye. Red might be festive, but not when its lighting up your pup's pupils.
Choose a time when your dog is comfortable. A full belly and a well-exercised pooch makes for a much smoother photo sesh.
Coordinate with your pack. Whether it’s Santa hats or sweaters, is there anything cuter than a dog matching with their fam??
