Make an impact for animals this Giving Tuesday
Every year, over 7 million dogs and cats across the US find themselves in animal shelters. These safe spaces are able to provide a temporary home, food, and care because of the support of individuals just like us.
If you’re looking for ways to make an impact this Giving Tuesday, consider reaching out to your local animal shelter and contributing the following:
Monetary Donations - Every dollar counts. And each donation to a local shelter helps to ensure they have the resources and staff available to provide the necessary care for every dog and cat.
Items - Most shelters have a list of items on their site that they are always in need of. Typical items include dog and cat food, detergent, paper towels, leashes and collars, blankets, and towels.
Time - Many shelters will gladly accept your volunteer time, especially during the busy holiday months. Volunteering often includes taking the dogs for walks (is there anything better?), playing with the cats, cleaning the animal’s living spaces, or organizing supplies. Being an advocate by sharing photos or encouraging others to contribute can also make a huge difference.
Adoption - Of course, deciding to add another pet to your pack is a life changing decision (for both you and the dog!) and should not be made lightly. If you’ve been considering growing your family by a few more paws, the holiday season can be a perfect time. Each adoption makes room for additional animals that are seeking shelter, and provides a safe and loving forever home for those who are blessed with one.

What We’re Digging
Cocktail season is in full swing, and Tito’s, aka the “Vodka for Dog People,” is helping turn all happy hours into yappy hours.
If you’ve ever purchased a bottle of this popular vodka, you’ve likely noticed their red and blue bottle neck tags that read “supporting pet prosperity and rescue.” Since their start, Tito’s was committed to rescuing and protecting the animals that came into their lives, often by chance, wandering up to their Texas distillery and later calling it home. The purpose of their donation program is to “better the lives of pets and their families far and wide.”
In addition to the charitable donations they make from each bottle purchase, Tito’s takes it to the next level with buyable goods for, you guessed it, dogs. Stuff your stockings this year with sweaters, leashes, or toys made for spirited pups. Cheers!
