A hairy situation
We all know that equal-parts-horrific-and-hilarious feeling when our dogs get a not-so-great haircut at the groomers. While the hair always grows back, the initial shock can be…well…alarming.

Fortunately, Leigh and his wife, Kat, have a great sense of humor. The Welsh couple living in China recently took in a stray German Shepherd mix puppy and decided to give him his forever home. With summer coming, they wanted to bring him to the local groomer for a cooling trim. Unfortunately, Leigh speaks little Mandarin and the groomer spoke zero English.

Attempting to mime the motions of shaving the dog and using ‘bzzz’ sound effects, Leigh left his puppy at the groomer’s and went on with his day. When he returned, the results were nothing short of hysterical.

Check out the pup, Seren, sporting his new ‘do, and feel free to pass on any comical groomer stories you have to woof@dailydigdogs.com!

Do(g)-It-Yourself
You know we love a good doggie DIY and apparently, we’re not alone. This DIY Dog Food Dispenser tutorial has racked up 36.9M+ (yes, million) views and over 7,000 comments, and it’s no surprise why.

The absolutely adorable dog food dispenser only requires a handful of supplies: a jar, 1 popsicle stick, a glue gun, and cardboard. By following along with the video instructions, you can create an impressive, re-fillable, sustainable, free (!) food dispenser in a matter of minutes.

No telling how long it’ll take your dod to learn how to use it…we’ll leave that trick up to you.

Watch the video here and be sure to let us know if you attempt to make a dispenser of your own!

What we're digging
There’s arguably nothing cuter than a snoring puppy who suddenly starts running and whimpering in their sleep. We assume they’re thinking about destroying yet another squeaky toy, or maybe chasing that pesky squirrel that’s always just a little too fast. But do our dogs actually experience dreams? And if they do, what are they about?

Research shows that dogs go through several sleep cycles, including REM sleep, just like we do. Scientists at MIT discovered that animals have very complex dreams during REM, and within those dreams, they can even recall activities that happened while they were awake (think: playing with the neighbor pup, collecting socks throughout the house, or even the specific route you took to the park).

So basically, our dogs are literally “living the dream.” 🥺

True or False...
Answer: TRUE! Dogs rely a lot on their sense of smell to find food, potential dangers, and friends.Needless to say, they sniff a lot.

Their noses are designed so a scent can stay in their nasal passages while air moves in and out of their lungs, which means they can breathe freely and still work out what that smell is.
