Pretty Magical: Corgi Nurses Lab Pups After Their Mom Dies
We all understand wanting to adopt a puppy. Puppies need help and we want to give them love. It turns out, humans aren’t the only ones who feel this way. This Corgi basically adopted four puppies after they lost their mom.

Recently, the Lone Star Dog Ranch & Dog Ranch Rescue rescued a pregnant Labrador retriever from a puppy mill. The mama lab was able to give birth to four healthy pups, but sadly died soon after, leaving her puppies on their own. Miraculously, another mama dog – a Corgi who had recently given birth to her own litter – stepped up to care for these little ones.

Angela the Corgi helps to feed, clean, and cuddle the Lab puppies. Lone Star President Renne Eden told Fox 4, “Angela's puppies were 3 weeks old, so to introduce some newborn puppies to a momma who's got 3-week-old pups can be a little tricky and most of the time they kind of turn their back on that, but she didn't. And it was pretty magical.”

Thankfully, there’s a video of this sweet canine family. And yes, it’s exactly as adorable as you’d think. Check it out.

Dog(s) of the Day
Meet today's dogs of the day: Juniper, Ruby, and Buttons
This adorable trio was submitted by Daily Dig reader Larry B. The first little heartbreaker is Juniper, a six-month-old Chihuahua Terrier mix. She is a total wildfire and will “go, go, go, and still keep going.”

The second cozy girl is Ruby, a Chihuahua-Dachshund mix. Her favorite thing to do is hang out on the porch and enjoy her retirement years in the sun!

The third pup is Buttons, a Terrier mix who is most certainly part Rat Terrier (his favorite activity is hunting in the wood pile). He’s a sweet shelter rescue from Texas, transported to his forever home in Washington State.

Thanks for sharing your four-legged fam with us, Larry!

P.S. Want your pup to be featured in a future Daily Dig? Submit their pic to woof@dailydigdogs.com, DM us on Instagram, or reply to this email! Include their name and anything that makes them special (we know, we know, everything about them is special).
Do hypoallergenic dogs really exist?
If hypoallergenic dogs sounded a little too good to be true, it might be because they are. However, if you suffer from allergies, it’s still possible to welcome a dog into your life. Here’s what you need to know.

A recent study has cast doubt on the idea of hypoallergenic dog breeds. Researchers found differences in allergen levels among individual dogs, but not a consistent difference in allergen levels across different breeds.

According to a study in The American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy, “the amount of dog allergens found in households does not vary depending on the breed,” and that families with “hypoallergenic” dogs are actually living with “the same level of allergens in their homes as people who live with non-hypoallergenic dogs.”

So, what should you do if you want a dog in your life but suffer from allergies? The American Kennel Club recommends looking at low-shedding dog breeds, such as the Afghan Hound, Bedlington Terrier, Bichon Frise, Chinese Crested, Coton de Tuléar, Schnauzer, Irish Water Spaniel, Poodle, Portuguese Water Dog, Spanish Water Dog, Labradoodle, Goldendoodle, Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, and Shih Tzu.

You can also minimize the allergens in your home by bathing your dog often, investing in a good quality vacuum, washing your bedding in hot water, using an air purifier at home, and getting washing seat covers for your car. In other words, with a little extra work, you can have a furry friend in your life!
